Abstract

The author, based on archival materials kept in the Archives of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, several published memoirs and memories, such as the biography of Pero Kreco, the letters of Arthur Evans and works based on other people’s memories, written by Milan Karanović and Vladimir Krasić, provides a list of the names of participants in the Serbian uprising in Bosnia in the period 1875-1878 from villages that were part of the parishes of Prekaja and Preodac. The list was primarily compiled based on oaths signed by two witnesses, who confirmed that the applicant participated in the 1875-1878 uprising. The signed oaths of the witnesses were an integral part of the documentation in the request for recognition of the status of a war volunteer after the decision of the Interministerial Committee at the Ministry for Social Policy of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes dated 4 October 1922, to recognize the volunteer status of the participants in the 1875-1878 uprising based on two witnesses. The published list cannot be considered final, but in the absence of sources, it is the only one for now, and it is possible to correct it based on future research findings.
