Abstract
The article carefully sorts out the main subjects of discussion between K.N. Leontiev and F.M. Dostoyevsky. Lasting many years, it showed a principled disagreement between the two “church” writers over OrthodoxCatholic and Slavophile-Westernizing issues. Dostoyevsky’s broad Orthodox and antipapal preaching, images of the elders (staretzes) in his works, as well as his attitude to the Orthodox Slavs and their historical destiny led to Leontiev’s formulating his clearer criticism on the matter.
